CEO and Primary Care Provider
A graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Sheila has been in practice for over 15 years as a family practice nurse practitioner. Prior to her tenure in primary care, Sheila had spent another 10 years as a hospital and ER nurse. Her two favorite things about her job are helping improve the health of her patients and the health of her community. Sheila has a Chihuahua named Skipper, whom you may see plotting about in the clinic on Saturdays.
Sheila's practice is assisted by her daughter Jacqueline Smith. Jacqueline has a Bachelor's of Science in Biology, and years of experience in assisted living care as well as being our lead medical assistant. Jacqueline has an extremely adorable cat named Tynee and will gladly show you a picture of her upon request!
Family Nurse Practitioner and Primary Care Provider
Emily was born in Washington state and felt the call to healing early on! She pursued nursing at a very young age and graduated from Seattle University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. From there, she gained experience in diverse medical settings with a focus in Oncology. Emily graduated from Gonzaga University with her Master of Science in Nursing in 2022, with a focus in Family Practice.
Emily is passionate about social justice, cultural sensitivity and expanding healthcare access to underserved populations. She enthusiastically took her position at People's Community Clinic of Newberg because she LOVES healing our community as well as being a part of it!
Her hobbies include gardening, hiking, and pottery. Be sure to also ask her about her experience playing saxophone! She adores spending time with her partner and many fur babies.
